What's New for Seabourn Cruise Line?

Seabourn launched its newest ship, Seabourn Ovation, sister ship to Seabourn Encore (2016), in May of 2018. Seabourn Ovation sailed on its maiden voyage from Venice to Barcelona, after being built at the Fincantieri Shipyard and designed by Adam D. Tihaney, one of the top designers in the world, who is best known for designing elegant hospitality spaces that are satisfying to both his clients and their clientele. His work on Seabourn Ovation emphasizes creating a guest experience that will stay fresh and unique for those sailing on long voyages. She accommodates 600 guests at double occupancy, and each suite includes a private veranda, a desk or dining table and a walk-in closet as well as a personal bar and refrigerator.

Guests aboard Seabourn Ovation have access to programs and entertainment such as Spa and Wellness with Dr. Andrew Weil and An Evening With Tim Rice. In addition, Seabourn Ovation features a Sushi restaurant, a casual dining area called the Colonnade featuring family-style, American comfort food and a poolside eatery called the Patio, which features lunch buffets, soup and salad, pizza and options from the grill.

In 2016, Seabourn signed a Letter of Intent with renowned shipbuilder Fincantieri to build a new all-suite ship, Seabourn Encore, which debuted in December 2016. All accommodations have a veranda. The 604-guest (based on double occupancy) vessel is modeled after Seabourn's Odyssey-class vessels, but has an extra deck and larger public areas. It makes up for the passenger capacity lost with the sale of Seabourn Pride, Seabourn Spirit, and Seabourn Legend (which were their oldest and smallest ships).

Seabourn was awarded with many prestigious accolades in the last 10 years, such as "Best Luxury Line" by Travel Weekly for the fourth consecutive year and by Porthole magazine for the sixth consecutive year. Travel Weekly also honored Seabourn with Gold Magellan Awards for "Luxury Suite Design", "Luxury Spa Design", and "Overall Luxury Ship" for Seabourn Quest. Seabourn Quest was also awarded by Cruise Critic in the small ship category for "Best Overall Ship", "Best Public Rooms" and "Best Value".
