Reviewer's Comments
I'm a big fan of Royal Caribbean. I've been on 10 cruises with them. So, when the Freedom of the Seas came out I knew I just had to get on it. Boy, was I not disappointed. The Freedom is everything I could ever want in a cruise ship.
The only reason I didn't give the ship a 5 star rating for the dining and specialty restaurant categories is because I've been on a Crystal cruise...and that is definitely a notch above most regular cruises. But Crystal doesn't touch Royal as far as fun, family, and entertainment go.
My kids really loved the Johnny Rockets burger place onboard the ship. I do wish that there was no cover charge for it, but it was not too bad (under $4 per person). I really loved the nightclub, the showroom, and the Royal Promenade. The Royal Promenade was much bigger than the one on the other Royal Caribbean ships I've been on. I really felt like I was on a city street while I was there. It was a nice, but weird, feeling.
The cruise definitely went by very quick, and I can't wait for my upcoming cruise on the Freedom's sister ship, the Liberty of the Seas. Since we did Eastern Caribbean on this cruise we decided to do the Liberty when it's doing a Western itinerary. The Eastern Caribbean itinerary was nice. We had a lot of fun in the ports.
This was a great cruise, with a great ship. I highly, highly recommend it to anyone that may be considering it.
